Q: Can I walk on my Country Manor Shake roof?

A: Yes, with care. Country Manor Shake panels are made from flat aluminum sheet which is formed into its final shape. It actually takes 184 square feet of aluminum to make enough Country Manor Shake to cover a 100 square foot area. The forming process used to make the product gives added strength and rigidity; therefore, occasional trips to the roof for chimney cleaning or other types of home maintenance should pose no problem. Q: Is a Country Manor Shake roof energy efficient?

A: Yes; Aluminum reflects the vast majority of the sun’s rays, so it doesn’t retain as much heat as wood, asphalt shingles, tile, or cement. This means your Country Manor Shake roof will not pass the sun’s heat into your attic, reducing the load on your air conditioner in the hot summer months and possibly saving you energy dollars.

Q: Do I have to remove the present roofing on my home before Country Manor Shake is installed?

A: In many applications, Country Manor Shake can be installed over the previous roofing product. Perfection warrants that Country Manor Shake roofing will not leak due to hail perforation, nor will it rust, burn, or support combustion. It will not split or crack due to cold weather and will not lose impact resistance with age.

Q: How will a Country Manor Aluminum Shake roof hold up in a hail storm:

A: Country Manor Shake is formed from aluminum sheet that has a minimum tensile strength of 26,000 pounds per square inch. Its deeply formed face gives it a realistic appearance and adds strength and rigidity. Minor hail storms usually won’t cause any damage to the roof. Naturally, severe hail storms with large hail stones can cause some denting. If this does occur, the damaged panels can be replaced easily. It should be noted, however, that Country Manor Shake is warranted not to leak as a result of hail perforation. This is a significant warranty since other roofing products on the market have been known to split, crack, or blow away in hail storms, causing damage not only to the roof itself, but also allowing water to enter the living quarters to cause interior damage. Furthermore, more states are now requiring UL2218 testing for impact resistance on roofing materials. Country Manor Shakes passed the most stringent testing with the largest steel ball, namely, Class 4.

Who installs gas lanterns??

Building codes require a licensed plumber to install gas products.

What type of gas line should I run?

!/4" copper tubing is all that is needed to burn properly, however, many local codes require 1/2" black pipe. Please check with your local building inspector.

Will these lanterns need polishing?

No, Each lantern is made of solid copper, a natural metal which weathers beautifully.

Is there a lot of maintenance on these lanterns?

No, virtually no maintenance, other than periodically cleaning the glass, as you would wash your windows.

Do you have to relight them everyday?

No, actually, once installed, and the lanterns are lit, leave them burning 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are most attractive on gray winter days, with a warm and welcoming allure.

Do they use a lot of gas??

Most lanterns are rated at 3451 BTU. They do not use a lot of gas. They simply keep a pretty flame glowing with soft light and use little more than a pilot light.

How much light will they provide??

The beauty of the open flame does not provide strong light. It softly accents an entryway or pathway and creates a wonderful romantic ambiance. The light would be equivalent to a 25 watt light bulb.

Are they available in electric??

Yes, each style is available in electric, with Edison, or candelabra clusters. They can also be adapted for high intensity street lighting.
